乐毅,少年时期就读于南昌市洪都中学,随后进入广州南方医科大学攻读医学学位并顺利毕业。毕业后,他留校任教,担任生物化学讲师。
1995年,乐博士前往新加坡国立大学攻读博士学位,在读期间共发表约十篇同行评议论文。博士毕业后,他受聘加入美国哈佛医学院附属的波士顿儿童医院从事博士后研究,并获得美国国家级著名奖学金的资助。
乐博士现在在哈佛医学院另一附属医院医学部,担任助理教授及临床科研专家。其科学研究已在《Nature Communications》《Immunity》《Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI)》《Cancer Research》《Blood》《Stem Cells》等顶尖学术期刊发表80余篇论文。他也是中山大学的访问教授。
目前,乐博士及其团队正致力于开发创新型治疗手段,以期治愈癌症并延长人类健康寿命。
上世纪八十年代,我就读于洪都中学。那段时光充满温暖、鼓励与难忘的回忆,我深深感激所有老师和同学。在那里,我不仅获得了知识,更收获了三条对我一生影响深远的宝贵经验。
第一条经验是严谨的态度。我的化学老师邓老师告诉我们,严谨是培养分析能力和解决问题能力的基础。他鼓励我们质疑假设、关注细节。这种思维方式在我后来于广州南方医科大学的医学学习中发挥了重要作用,帮助我以清晰而精准的方式理解复杂的医学概念。
第二条经验是坚持。我的英语老师罗老师要求我们每天记住几个新单词。虽然任务看似简单,但长期坚持带来了深远影响。随着时间推移,这个习惯为我打下了扎实的词汇基础。正因如此,我在新加坡国立大学攻读博士期间能够自如使用英语,并在毕业前发表了约十篇论文。我的体育老师乐老师——也是我的父亲——进一步让我明白,坚持锻炼不仅强健体魄,也能增强意志,使我们在学习和工作中更具韧性。
第三条经验是真理与创造力的重要性。在物理课上,老师常常问我们:“你是如何得出这个答案的?”以及“有没有其他方法可以解决?”这些问题促使我们独立思考,尝试不同角度,并重视过程本身。这种探究精神伴随我整个职业生涯,影响了我在哈佛医学院附属医院从事科研与临床工作的方式。
如今,我也将这三条经验——严谨、坚持、求真与创造——传授给我的团队和学生。它们是永不过时的原则,从我在洪都中学第一次学到它们起,就一直指引着我。我衷心希望洪都中学继续保持优良传统,迎来更加光明的未来。
In the 1980s, I studied at Hongdu Middle School, a place filled with warmth, encouragement, and unforgettable memories. I deeply appreciated my teachers and classmates, and the lessons I learned there have guided me throughout my academic journey and professional life. Among the many things I gained, three lessons stand out as especially influential.
The first was the value of a rigorous attitude. My chemistry teacher, Mr. Deng, taught us that rigor is the foundation of strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. He encouraged us to question assumptions, examine details carefully, and approach every task with discipline. This mindset later proved invaluable during my medical studies at Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, where it helped me navigate complex medical concepts with clarity and precision.
The second lesson was persistence. My English teacher, Mr. Luo, asked us to memorize a few new words every day. Although the task seemed simple, the long‑term impact was profound. Over time, this habit built a strong vocabulary that supported my academic growth. Thanks to that foundation, I had no difficulty using English during my PhD studies at the National University of Singapore, where I published around ten papers before graduating. My sports teacher, Mr. Le — who is also my father — reinforced this lesson by showing me that persistence in physical exercise strengthens not only the body but also the mind, enabling us to study and work with greater resilience.
The third lesson was the importance of truth and creativity. In physics class, Mr. Luo often asked, “How did you arrive at this answer?” and “Is there another way to solve it?” His questions pushed us to think independently, explore alternative approaches, and value the process as much as the result. This spirit of inquiry has stayed with me throughout my career, shaping both my research and my clinical service at a Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
Today, I pass these three lessons — rigor, persistence, and creative truth‑seeking — on to my own team and students. They are timeless principles that continue to guide me, just as they did when I first learned them at Hongdu Middle School. I hope the school continues its strong traditions and moves forward with a bright and promising future.
