The history of Wanshou Taoist Temple Historical and Cultural Block can be traced back to the Three Kingdoms period, when people had already started to reside here. What truly made it renowned far and wide was the legendary story of Xu Xun, the founding master of the Jingming School of Taoism in the Jin Dynasty. Xu Xun, was a renowned Taoist priest in the Jin Dynasty. He was dedicated to serving the people, controlling floods and eliminating pests, and was deeply loved by the common folk. It is said that Xu Xun lived to be 136 years old. On the first day of the eighth lunar month in the second year during Emperor Ningkang's reign of Eastern Jin Dynasty, all 42 members of his family ascended to heaven and became immortals together. The world revered him as "Xu Zhenjun". To commemorate him, people built the Xu Xun Ancestral Temple in Nanchang, which was the predecessor of Wanshou Taoist Temple. Since then, through renovations and expansions in various dynasties, the scale of Wanshou Taoist Temple has grown increasingly large, and the incense offerings have become more and more abundant. It has become an important place for the dissemination of Taoist culture and the religious and cultural center of the Nanchang area.
